Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how EARTH VENTURE CAPITAL PTE. LTD. ("Earth VC," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data through earth.vc (the "Site") and related activities — newsletter sign-ups, event and webinar registration, and general correspondence.
This policy is written to give every visitor one clear explanation, with additional sections for specific jurisdictions where the law requires particular disclosures or gives you particular rights. If a jurisdiction-specific section conflicts with the general sections, the jurisdiction-specific section governs for visitors in that jurisdiction.
1. What We Collect
Information you give us directly: name, email, company/title, and message content when you use a contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, register for an event or webinar, or otherwise correspond with us.
Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, and referral source, via cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for detail on categories, purposes, and how to control this.
Information from third parties: where relevant, information shared with us by an event partner (e.g., a co-hosted webinar's registration platform) or publicly available professional information (e.g., from LinkedIn) when we're doing standard business-development outreach.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of sensitive personal data through the Site, and ask that you not submit any through a form.
2. Why We Collect It
To respond to your inquiry. When you email us or use the contact form, we use your details to reply — based on our legitimate interest in answering you, or, where your inquiry relates to a potential business arrangement, as a step toward a contract.
To send the newsletter or updates you asked for. When you subscribe, we use your email address to send what you signed up for — based on your consent.
To register you for an event or webinar. When you sign up, we use your details to administer that event — based on the contract to provide it, or your consent.
To understand how the Site is used. We use analytics cookies to see how visitors use the Site, so we can improve it — based on your consent where that's required (EEA/UK visitors — see our Cookie Policy for detail).
To comply with the law and prevent fraud. Where necessary, we use or disclose information in response to a valid regulatory or legal request — based on our legal obligation to do so.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Who We Share It With
We share personal data only with:
Service providers who process it on our behalf under a data processing agreement — our website analytics provider (Google Analytics 4), and our email/newsletter platform and CRM
Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary for their engagement;
Regulators or authorities, where required by law or a valid legal process;
A successor entity, if Earth VC were involved in a merger, financing, or sale of assets — subject to the same protections described here.
We do not share personal data with portfolio companies for their own marketing purposes without your separate consent.
4. International Transfers
Earth VC is based in Singapore and invests globally; personal data we collect may be processed in Singapore and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection standards than your home country. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, and can provide more detail on request.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose we collected it for actually requires, then delete or anonymize it. In practice, that means different periods for different categories:
Website analytics data: up to 14 months.
A one-off inquiry (a contact-form message that doesn't develop into an ongoing relationship): 2 years from your last contact with us.
Event or webinar registration: 2 years from the event, unless you separately subscribe to our newsletter or become part of our investor pipeline, in which case the relevant period below applies instead.
Newsletter subscription: for as long as you're subscribed, deleted or anonymized within about 30 days of unsubscribing.
Prospective-investor outreach that doesn't lead to an investment: 3 years from our last contact.
Limited partner and investor relationship records: for the life of the relevant fund, plus a wind-down period afterward, reflecting both the fund's own lifecycle and our recordkeeping obligations as a regulated fund manager, including a minimum 5-year retention period for know-your-customer and due-diligence records after a relationship ends, as required under Singapore's anti-money-laundering rules for capital markets intermediaries.
If you're an existing limited partner or event attendee and want to know the specific retention period that applies to your data, contact us at the address in Section 10.
6. Your Rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom
Under the GDPR / UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request erasure; restrict or object to certain processing; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (this won't affect processing carried out before you withdrew it). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 10.
If you are in Singapore
Under the Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to access and correct the personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of it (which may limit our ability to provide certain services, such as sending you updates you'd previously asked for). We handle requests in line with the Do Not Call provisions for any marketing calls, texts, or faxes.
If you are in Israel
Under the Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981 (as amended, including Amendment 13, in force from 14 August 2025), you have the right to review and request correction of personal data we hold about you. Amendment 13 broadened the statutory definition of personal data to explicitly include identifiers such as IP addresses — the categories in Section 1 above are written with that broadened definition in mind.
If you are in Hong Kong
Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have the right to be informed whether we hold personal data about you, to access and correct it, and — specifically for direct marketing — the right to opt out, free of charge, the first time we use your data for that purpose and at any time afterward. We will not use your personal data for direct marketing without first telling you and obtaining your consent, as required under sections 35A–35F of the Ordinance.
If you are in the United States
Some states give their residents specific rights over personal information (for example, the right to know what's collected and to opt out of certain sharing). If you are a resident of a state with such a law and would like to exercise a right it gives you, contact us at the address in Section 10 and we will respond consistent with that law. All marketing emails we send to US recipients comply with the CAN-SPAM Act — accurate sender information, clear identification as a marketing message, our postal address, and a working opt-out honored within 10 business days.
7. Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for the categories of cookies we use, why, and how to control them. For visitors in the EEA and UK, we ask for your opt-in consent before setting any cookie that isn't strictly necessary for the Site to function — a general "legitimate interest" basis doesn't substitute for that consent under the ePrivacy Directive.
8. Children's Privacy
This Site is intended for a business/professional audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
10. Contact & Complaints
Questions, requests, or complaints about this policy or our handling of your personal data: rebuild@earth.vc. Earth VC has not designated a specific Data Protection Officer; this address reaches the team responsible for privacy matters.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the revised version here with a new "Last updated" date, and where changes are material, we'll take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
