Earth Venture Capital is proud to back Sygaldry in its $139M Seed and Series A rounds. Sygaldry is building quantum-accelerated AI servers to exponentially speed up training and inference.
The company has raised $34M in Seed funding led by Initialized Capital and $105M in Series A led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, bringing total funding to $139M. The investment reinforces Earth VC's commitment to backing breakthrough deep-tech solutions that drive efficiency and accelerate the global energy transition.

The Problem: AI Is Hitting an Infrastructure Ceiling
AI progress is bottlenecked by power and cost. Training and running large-scale models requires massive GPU clusters that consume gigawatts of energy and hundreds of millions of dollars, a structural constraint that compounds with every new generation of models. Meeting global AI demand is estimated to require $5.2 trillion in capital expenditure and 125 GW of new power generation by 2030.
The bottom line: the real limitation sits at the compute layer. Quantum computing offers a path forward by handling complex mathematical operations far more efficiently than classical systems.
Sygaldry: Quantum Hardware Built for the AI Era
Founded in 2024, Sygaldry is building quantum-accelerated AI servers purpose-built for data centers, delivering exponential compute speedup at a fraction of the cost and energy of classical infrastructure alone.
What sets Sygaldry apart:
Multi-modal qubit architecture: Unlike most quantum efforts that rely on a single qubit architecture, Sygaldry combines multiple complementary qubit modalities within a fault-tolerant system, leveraging the strengths of each while minimizing their limitations
Plug-and-play deployment: Designed to operate within existing AI data center infrastructure, sitting alongside GPU racks and complementing classical compute rather than replacing it.
Purpose-built for AI data centers: Built from the ground up to accelerate training and inference, deliver more compute per watt, and make AI faster, cheaper, and more energy efficient.
Led by quantum veterans Chad Rigetti and Idalia Friedson alongside AI scientist Michael Keiser, the team uniquely blends deep-tech scientific pedigree with proven public-market execution. With offices in Ann Arbor and San Francisco, Sygaldry is building the tools to integrate quantum capabilities directly into AI models and workflows, laying the infrastructure for quantum superintelligence.
Why Earth VC Invests in Sygaldry
Classical compute has reached its limits. The next decade of AI will be built on fundamentally different infrastructure, and Sygaldry is building it.
Rather than replacing existing systems, Sygaldry augments them by embedding quantum processors directly into AI servers. This enables organizations to run compute-heavy tasks faster and more efficiently, while reducing energy demands. This is exactly the kind of early, ambitious, high-conviction vision we look for: one that advances performance while minimizing cost and energy impact, offering a sustainable path for AI infrastructure.
“AI's next frontier will not be won by model intelligence alone, it will be won by the infrastructure underneath it. We couldn't be more proud to stand behind a team rethinking compute and data processing at the physics layer to power what comes next.” - Duc Pham, Principal at Earth Venture Capital.
In addition to Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Initialized Capital, the caliber of co-investors, include Y Combinator, Rock Yard Ventures, IQT, University of Michigan, QDNL Participations, Expeditions Fund, 468 Capital, Morpheus Ventures, WTI, Overmatch Ventures, RRE Ventures, and Switch Ventures, reflects the depth of conviction behind the team and their vision.
Looking Ahead: The Future of AI Infrastructure
Sygaldry’s quantum-accelerated AI servers could fundamentally reshape AI economics, allowing AI companies to innovate more quickly, increase margins, and deploy better products. This is quantum computing built as real-world, deployable infrastructure for the AI era, bending the cost and energy curve at precisely the moment the industry needs it most.
The downstream impact is significant: faster model iteration, cheaper deployment, a lower carbon footprint, and broader access to high-performance AI beyond the hyperscalers. By integrating quantum and AI, Sygaldry is pushing toward a future of quantum superintelligence, where advanced intelligence systems can scale efficiently and sustainably.
